Thinking is my curse! đŸȘ„

[21:09] As Descartes’ famous maxim states: “I think, therefore I am.”

Yet, as modern neuroscientists like AntĂłnio Damasio remind us, Descartes had it backwards.

The thinking process of the human brain is remarkably complex. Our senses gather external information, combining it fluidly with internal emotions and memories. This initiates a patterning process—a wording chosen intentionally. In this state, the nerves create and share electrical impulses while establishing new connections. The patterning, if you will. Depending on what is forged in this crucible, the human being acts.

To add a more complex layer to this process—and it is widely discussed scientifically—men and women's brains think differently. While women are high-functioning multitaskers, men—not so much. They also process but only one task at a time. 99% â†ș

(I'm a woman writing this—bear with me.)

Apparently, nothing is set in stone. Dear men and women, do not worry. :)

Perhaps this explains why a man in a crowded room develops instantaneous tunnel vision, detecting a femme fatale the very nanosecond she enters the space. Women, on the other hand, observe the crowd as a holistic, non-threatening space—at least for now. If they spot that something has captured their partner's attention, that fast-operating brain shifts into high-alert mode!

“Darling, what are you staring at?”
“Oh, I think I just spotted an old friend of mine. He looks rather different—in quite bad shape, poor old boy.”

(Red flag alert: our multitasking faculties are already engaged.)

“Why must you stare? It is dreadfully rude—but I shall take a look regardless!”

(This is the precise moment for an escape plan, an architectural, cephalic 'intuitive' mass men simply do not have access to, so quickly.)

Our marvellous brains then initiate the grand multitasking sequence.
We evaluate the face,

the legs,
the upper airbags,
the lower airbags,
the wardrobe, and every micro-defining facial expression.

We interpret the data, formally denounce her as the ‘enemy’ (strategy??), and execute the decision (action), whereas the gentlemen remain in 'wandering eye' exploration mode (assessing = staring).

Why, why do I think so much??

Because I think; therefore, I exist to love!
